SHRM Members Can Customize Annual Benefits Data
Ever wonder how SHRM research applies to your workplace? SHRM members will soon be able to filter SHRM Annual Employee Benefits research with an interactive benchmarking tool to see how their employers’ offerings compare with those of organizations similar in size, location and industry.
SHRM staffers will be on hand at SHRM booth 3238 in the Expo to explain how the new online feature works. Demonstrations will be available for conference attendees to get a first glimpse at the latest research.
The survey results also will be discussed during the concurrent session “2022 Annual Benefits Survey Results” at 2 p.m. CT on Tuesday, June 14.
New Online Word Game from SHRM

From Chance Meeting to Friend and Mentor
Twenty years ago, SHRM member Brian McComak attended his first SHRM Annual Conference & Expo as a new, young HR professional. He didn’t know anyone when he ventured into the cavernous convention center filled with thousands of people attending the conference’s 2002 opening general session. Then he found himself seated next to Jeff Nally, SHRM-SCP.
That chance meeting grew into a friendship, and on Wednesday, June 15, McComak and Nally will co-present the SHRM22 concurrent session “Welcoming All LGBTQ+ Voices—Through the Four Lenses of Representation,” alongside JD Valladares-Williams and Graci Harkema.
McComak shares the story of how his friendship with Nally started at the 2002 SHRM annual conference and offers tips to new attendees on how to meet others and develop your career through SHRM conferences.
