Arte Nathan served as Chief Human Resources Officer for Steve Wynn’s gaming companies from 1983 – 2006: he opened and helped operated all of Wynn’s casinos in Atlantic City, Las Vegas, Mississippi and China. Arte retired from the gaming industry in 2006 and moved to Southern California to live on the beach, consult and write: while there he helped develop and open the Resort at Pelican Hill. Arte moved back to Las Vegas and was a visiting lecturer at UNLV’s Harrah College of Hospitality and Executive Director of UNLV’s Center for Professional and Leadership Studies from 2013-2015. He is currently on the Board of several commercial and Native American hospitality companies, consults (continuing a long-term partnership with Strategic Development Worldwide), and writes blogs (www.thearteofmotivation.blogspot.com ) and other professional articles.
Arte graduated from Cornell University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Labor Relations. He has been the recipient of many awards for his work in Human Resources, community affairs and education. He is a frequent guest lecturer at colleges and universities, and has addressed numerous professional associations and conferences on the subjects of leadership, human resource management and employee relations. He is an avid musician, hiker, canoeist and book enthusiast.
