Arte Nathan served as Chief Human Resources Officer for Steve Wynn’s gaming companies from 1983 – 2006: he opened and helped operated all of Wynn’s resorts in Atlantic City, Las Vegas, Mississippi and China. Arte retired from the gaming industry in 2006 and moved to Southern California to live on the beach, consult and write: while there he helped develop and open the Resort at Pelican Hill.
Arte returned to Las Vegas in 2013 and taught at UNLV for three years; he now spends the majority of his time consulting with organizations that want to achieve cultures of excellence.
Throughout his career, Arte oversaw all aspects of HR including employment, compensation, training and development, workplace safety, labor and employee relations, employee communications, human resource information systems, and employee engagement.
He currently serves on the Board of several hospitality companies as well as a non-profit organization that provides reentry services to people with criminal backgrounds; he also now writes blogs (www.thearteofmotivation.blogspot.com) and daily motivational messages.
Arte graduated from Cornell University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Labor Relations – he majored in organizational development and collective bargaining. He is a frequent guest lecturer at corporations, colleges and universities, and has addressed numerous professional associations and conferences on the subjects of leadership, strategy, and human capital management.
Arte divides his time between Las Vegas and the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York. He is an avid musician, hiker, canoeist, book enthusiast, and grandfather.
